* updated snd to today's snapshot. The real reason for the
update was to fix a dependency problem that showed up when
using redhat 7.2 (the snd motif rpm now explicitly requires
openmotif, otherwise the dependency was satisfied by lesstif
but snd was failing to start with an undefined symbol).

* added a new ACPI enabled kernel. Up to the latest acpi
snapshot, 2.4.20-pre4, added the preemptible kernel patch
(which was not included in the previous ACPI enabled kernel).
I've been using it happily on my laptop.

I'm working on fixing some problems with the cm/clm/cmn lisp
world and cmucl _and_ creating downloadable ISO images of
Planet CCRMA, so that if you have a place away from home with
good connectivity you can use it to burn Planet CCRMA cds to
take home. Thanks to Chris Burns for his help in finding many
of these small problems (and for his patience!).
