I noticed that Ludo has a USB controller also using IRQ 5.  Doing something to get one or the other on its own IRQ might be worth while. I think Fernando's suggestion to try moving the HDSP to another slot is based on this same suspicion, but I wonder: is that USB controller on the motherboard? Perhaps disabling it (or even unplugging it if it's a PCI card) would be informative.
