Fernando,
	Thanks for the info. I have hotplug version 2002_08_26-1 as you
suggest, but there was no /etc/hotplug/usb/ezusbmidi.usermap file.
	Is there a problem with the hotplug rpm? I'm confused why I'm
not seeing the same files you are.
	Mark just sent me a copy of his ezusbmidi.usermap and part of
his modules.usbmap file. Apparently, the 0x1001 number is NOT supposed
to be in modules.usbmap at all. Mark also sent his ezusbmidi.usermap
file, which does have the 0x1001 number, and I put it in my
     /etc/hotplug/usb/ezusbmidi.usermap
 and rebooted.
	NOW, /var/log/messages says:
=================
Jan 5 22:50:59 prez kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1,
assigned device number 3
Jan  5 22:51:00 prez kernel: usb.c: USB device 3 (vend/prod
0x763/0x1001) is not claimed by any active driver.
Jan  5 22:51:03 prez /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup usb-midi for USB
product 763/1001/1
Jan  5 22:51:03 prez /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: ... blacklisted module:
usb-midi
Jan 5 22:51:03 prez /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup ezusbmidi for USB
product 763/1001/1
=================
This doesn't exactly match Mark's log, but it seems encouraging that it
gets to "Setup ezusbmidi...". Unfortunately, it stops there and doesn't
load ezusbmidi2x2.ihx, the lights don't blink, and /proc/asound/cards
doesn't show the usb device.

Any ideas? Maybe something is wrong with the newest rpms?

I'll be out of touch until Tuesday afternoon. Thanks for the help so
far.

	-Roger
