I dont know of any firewire audio devices that work well with linux yet,
so i'd be supprised.

Does it have a NVidia GF2Go card? If so I can probably get the TV out
working for you.

The Mac laptops are nice, but the resolution is just too low, and the
thought of living without planet ccrma brings on mild panic.
