Hi all,
I'm a linux newbie trying to get my Echo Mona Laptop card to work. I've
downloaded and succesfully built the drivers from:
http://xoomer.virgilio.it/g_pochini/ea.html
but when doing modprobe for the card, I'm getting:
[root@localhost alsa-driver-1.0.5a]# modprobe snd-mona
/lib/modules/2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma/kernel/sound/pci/echoaudio/snd-mona.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma/kernel/sound/pci/echoaudio/snd-mona.o:
insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma/kernel/sound/pci/echoaudio/snd-mona.o
failed
/lib/modules/2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma/kernel/sound/pci/echoaudio/snd-mona.o:
insmod snd-mona failed
I'm on:
Linux version 2.4.26-1.ll.rhfc1.ccrma (root@localhost.localdomain) (gcc
version 3.2.3 20030422 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-6)) #1

The drivers are reported not to work with Layla Laptop, so I guess the
problem is related to the cardbus card.

So, my question to this list:
Is there a way for a PCMCIA card to appear to the system as a PCI card,
or can anyone think of something that might help me use this card with
Linux?

Thanks,
Andrés
