Not necessarily. They will access the soundcard through the OSS
emulation modules in ALSA. Whether they can do something with that or
not depends (I guess) on the exact program you are trying to run.

That is the original OSS driver, it cannot be loaded (at that time)
because you already hav the ALSA driver loaded.
