I have "qjackctl -s" run when my windows manager starts up. Qjackctl is pretty minor in CPU and memory consumption, so even if you ware not using it, it doesnt hurt to have it open. I suppose you could do the same sort of things with just running jackstart when your window manager starts up.

Thanks for the help, i got it running. i was running it as root and then
trying to run the other programs as me. is there a service script thing
for the Jack Server or do you need to run it by hand everytime?
