Probably not, it would not have loaded. Make sure that you have a
/dev/MidiShare device entry (sigh, I have to release the planetedge
kernel and modules, they have the fix). 

> mknod /dev/MidiShare c 151 0

And make sure it is world writable (or at least by the user trying to
use MidiShare).
