[PlanetCCRMA] kernel misadventures!

I'm back after a disconcerting week of kernel misadventures!

Rule number one, folks - if you want to build yourself a kernel, do
*NOT* overwrite your existing kernel, and do your builds in a COPY
of the source tree!!

Fernando, Planet CCRMA got me out of a sticky situation, thanks again
for making this resource available!

Now, a few questions...
Since I now have a P4 with the prescott core on an ASUS P4P800-SE
motherboard, I can in theory use hyperthreading, but I've been unable
to get it to work in practice.

When I boot into the 2.4.26-1.ll.rh90.ccrmasmp kernel, there's an
error, as shown by dmesg:
          . . .

          . . .

Has anyone gotten a Prescott P4 to work with the SMP kernel, or should I
just stick with the tried and true single CPU 2.4.26-1.ll.rh90.ccrma?

Thanks!
