Rick:
Putting the driver in /etc/hotplug/blacklist did not seem to work and
the modem's sound system is still loaded. Thanks anyway, and if anyone
has any more ideas it is greatly appriciated

Hi all:<br>
Thanks to Pierre's work in the thread <a
href="http://ccrma-mail.stanford.edu/pipermail/planetccrma/2005-March/008464.html">snd-intel8x0
loaded but no sound on FC3</a> I was able to work my way out of the
same woes that he was experiencing. But I still have the modem's
speaker (snd_intel8x0m) loading
and blocking my sound card. I can <tt>_rmmod snd_intel8x0m_ </tt>and
then with KDE's _Soundcard Detection_ thingy get my sound card going.
But how can I get rid of the modem sound thing for ever and get my
sound card going when I boot? <br>
I also want to add that the sound on my computer was working fine
(alsa, jack et al.) after installing FC3, Planet CCRMA
2.6.11-0.3.rdt.rhfc3.ccrma, but stopped working after loading the
driver PWC for my USB Phillips webcam. <br>
Thanks: Brad<br>
<br>
Here is some information on the devices before I do <tt>_rmmod

I believe that if you added "<tt>snd_intel8x0m" to the
/etc/hotplug/blacklist file it would stop it from being loaded. Worth a
try anyway.<br>
