For mplayer you can get the packages from the freshrpms repository. As
usual I would recommend you add the repo, install only what you need
(ie: don't do an apt-get dist-upgrade) and then disable it. 

Re: cinelerra I tried to build it but could not get a binary that worked
(on both fc3/fc4). It has been a while since I tried so probably
versions have changed and it may (or may not) work now.
