I don't use them but... The new juju firewire stack is part of the stock
Fedora kernels. It is disabled in the Planet CCRMA kernels because it
was not working at all with freebob - maybe that has changed. 

You would need to do two things to try it out. First you need to boot
into a Fedora kernel. Second, you need to downgrade libavc1394 and
libraw1394 to the original Fedora versions as those are patched with a
special juju patch.
