Wow... I would try to move away the ardour preferences:
  mv ~/.ardour2 ~/.ardour2-old

and restart ardour. 

There's information about how to generate good traces here:
  http://ardour.org/how_to_report_a_bug

But if you do it is probably a good idea to post to the ardour lists
which probably will have more specific advise.
