[PlanetCCRMA] Seq24 and also ZynAddSubFx

Greetings,

My Setup:
fc8
intel iMac
edirol fa-101
seq24 0.8.7
Zynaddsubfx (not sure of version, but is from ccrma repo)
jackd 0.103.0 started with /usr/bin/jackd -R -P70 -dfreebob -r44100
-p512 -n3 -D (also runs generally well at 128 frames - priority is
set without certainty)

I'm finding seq24 to be quite buggy. The repo version crashed each
time I tried to create a new sequence complaining about a buffer
overflow. So I downloaded the 0.8.7 source (same as repo I think) and
built from there (with fingers crossed, I'm no expert). That seemed
to improve the situation but I'm still finding the application to
crash at different points, especially when attempting to use jack
transport. Knowing that this isn't the seq24 user list, my question
is simply this: Is this how good/bad it is for fellow ccrma'ers?

Here's the most of the output from the repo version. The source build
that I did also seems to mention gtk related things a lot when it
crashes at other places.

Secondly, I'm having a hard time running Zynaddsubfx efficiently and
consequently, cleanly. It cracks and pops on just about everything.
It doesn't appear that cpu usage is maxed out but I've found that
bumping up my jack frame rate helps, but then latency becomes an
issue. Again Zynaddsubfx only seems to have favourable mention out
there so I suspect people must be able to run this application
smoothly.

Other than that, my relatively new ccrma system runs very well. I've
tried linux audio a number of times over the past couple years and for
numerous reasons continually failed. So it's great to finally be able
to fully realize and appreciate everyone's great efforts! :)

Thanks,
Graeme
