I'm confirming as well. No nVidia drivers though. I think Fedora has to go
mainstream with the CCRMA/realtime kernel before that happens. I would
rather have CCRMA and a bizarre screen flicker an no drivers than no CCRMA
though. Thanks again Fernando.

> > Hi,
> >
> > I just upgraded the CCRMA kernel in my laptop and found that direct
> > rendering is broken (so compiz doesn't work) with Intel video chips.
> > There is a bug report here:
> > https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=433728
> >
> > According to the commentaries it has been fixed in a newer version
> > (kernel-2.6.24.3-34.fc8) already "submitted as an update", but I guess
> > that doesn't mean it's available for download since yum is not
> > reporting any new kernel, also I guess the CCRMA kernel would have to
> > be rebuilt to recover direct rendering :-(
>
> sigh... yes, of course, another day, another package :-)
>
> I was aware of the thread, I'll have to check out -34 to see what
> patches changed (mine is based on Fedora's revision 24). Hopefully it
> won't be too much trouble to incorporate them.

I can confirm that the Fedora kernel 2.6.24.3-34.fc8 fixes the
problems I've had with all of the 2.6.24 kernels on my Dell laptop.
