FYI when I start jackd with the *fedora* package , I get the following
trace :

 ~]# jackd -dalsa -dusb_stream:1
jackd 0.116.1
Copyright 2001-2005 Paul Davis and others.
jackd comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY

JACK compiled with System V SHM support.
loading driver ..
creating alsa driver ... usb_stream:1|usb_stream:1|1024|2|48000|0|0|

ALSA lib control.c:909:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL usb_stream:1

ALSA: use 2 periods for capture
ALSA: final selected sample format for playback: 24bit little-endian

So it seems that "No such file or directory" message is still here,
however jackd starts...

hope that helps

thanks for your feedback :)
