Thanks for the prompt reply and yes it is helpful.
I will get myself a more complete list of the 'Control change'
commands. Doh!
I will now go and play with the attack command.

The pitch bend, I guess would frequency shift on the same sample.
If that is the case any movement more than a few semitones may change
the timbre of the instrument. It would need to be a fast transition to
avoid a glissando effect. I shall have to test this.
Unless somebody knows?
