When I have the time I've been testing out the 3.0rt kernels.
The best I can say is that they are a _WORK_IN_PROGRESS_!

Probably the best thing to do is to monitor the linux rt users list;
  linux-rt-users at vger.kernel.org

The RT folks could use testers, people willing to build and/or try out their stuff.

My experiences have been that a LOT of thing don't work well and I wouldn't suggest that anyone try the new RT stuff unless they understand that it could mess up their machine. That said, it's mostly been video problems for me, and the machine always rebooted in one piece.

The CCRMA builds are based on, and supposed to run on fedora systems. The first thing I would suggest is to not use gnome or kde. I've been able to get better low-latency out of the regular fedora kernel while using lxde as the window manager, then I can get out of the newest rt-kernel(when it isn't crashing of course). Video drivers can also be a problem, don't expect the nvidia drivers to work on the 3.0-rt.

I'm still in a deep "wait and see" mode on this one.
