David,
No problem.
My additional information is that I was at one time successfully using
USB based MIDI with RME cards, and I use only Via chipsets. If USB is a
problem, then it would appear to be specific to the ICE1712 series of cards,
as far as I can tell. It may be specific to some certain Via chipset, as
some of their older PCI interfaces didn't work as well as the newer ones...
Anyway, it's good info, but unlikely to make Olaf very happy...
