[PlanetCCRMA] help with sound via82xxx

Hello,
I have RH 9.0 with the updated caps kernel etc. and all of the alsa drivers
are in, module.conf seems to be in line but I still have no sound at all. To
be honest I have less hair today than yesterday because I can not figure out
what the gig is with Linux & VIA. I even updated their drivers for
linux..everything says it is working but no sounds. What could I be missing?
My thinking is that linux can not find or recognize the modules, could it be
true?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
