I'm (well, was, the machine is in the repair shop right now) using a 580
with no problems. I never tested the modem. Screen was fine (Radeon
chipset), network was fine, sound was fine (but the internal chipset is
sampling rate fixed at 48KHz). It does need an ACPI enabled kernel to
succesfully use sound, otherwise interrupts are not routed properly (the
stock RedHat kernel for <= 9 does not have ACPI).
