When running the ll-kernel on my Sony-Vaio I had to switch off firewire
because it did not get recognized 
and so the machine crashed - whyever.

Then I checked the kernel-xconfig and realized that the firewire-field was
not highlighted so I did not get 
a chance to edit it.

This is why I thought it isn´t there. Maybe I´m doing something wrong ?
