Why does the following error occur which leaves me with no sound? Note
the last line in
# /usr/sbin/alsaconf

May 23 07:51:53 localhost alsactl: No soundcards found...

I have an SB Live and an EMU 0404. I don't expect the EMU to be used
eventhough the system recognizes it as an Audigy LS, because I've read
that there is no usable driver for this card. But the both cards work
when I boot to Win XP. During the beginning of the alsaconf process both
cards are identified, so why does /usr/bin/alsactl not find the card?

Have I asked this question before? ADD and PTSD reigns.
