[PlanetCCRMA] FC3, IBM T41 sound

I too have a T41, and I had a similar problem.  It's related to a problem
with the recent sound drivers for the intel 8x0 chipset.

>From memory: using alsamixer, makesure that "Headphone Jack Sense" is
turned off.  Reboot (I needed to, someone else on a different machine with
the same chipset didn't).  Make sure "Headphone Jack Sense" is _still_
turned off.  If not you'll have to force a save of the settings prior to
reboot.

It should then work.  If you look in the archives earlier this year for
topics including "8x0" in the heading you should be able to review the
entire thread.
