That kernel seems a bit old, but it should work.

This is a Hammerfall card, not an HDSP card. Which do you beleive you have?

Possibly you loaded the wrong driver? The correct driver for the
Hammerfall is snd-rme9652. The correct driver for the HDSP line is
snd-hdsp. (I think - this is from memory...)
