Eheh yes, I'm such a stubborn ;) The "RT" indicator looks dimmed 
intentionally, and as Mark noticed, if it appears at all thats because 
its running realtime alright. Otherwise a double-dash "--" is shown, 
also dimmed. Got it? Nevermind.... Anyway, if this is the cause for much 
headaches, I'll make it brighter, better yet, reverse video and/or 
blinking? Sorry, just kidding :))

jackd-realtime is legacy and Mandrake specific AFAIK. Some time ago, the 
jackstart facility was being packaged seprately as jackd-realtime on 
Mandrake (nee Mandriva). Dunno if its still like that, so the legacy 
status of it.

On 2.6 kernels, stay with "jackd", period.
